Description: Original oil painting (frame not included).
These pansies were so satisfying to paint – their deep coloured, velvety petals gave the impression they were smiling, which in turn made me smile whilst painting them! Careful and deliberate brush strokes were used to create the leaves to make them look like they are dancing on the spindly stems. The bright yellow in the middle was the last dab of paint which helps to bring the whole picture to life.
INTERESTING FLOWER FACT: Victorians believed that carrying a pansy would ensure the love of a sweetheart. This could be a PERFECT GIFT for newlyweds or a loved one!
