These Black-Eyed Susans will brighten up anyone’s day. They were painted from a get-well soon bouquet, which really did help with the recovery. I love how the leaves have a life of their own – wonderful to paint by twisting the brush as it touches the canvas. I usually keep the backgrounds of my floral paintings still to give a relaxing feel to them and to keep the focus on the flowers. On this one, however, I have added a bit of movement to bring some extra energy.
INTERESTING FLOWER FACT: Black-eyed Susans are super hardy and usually the first plants to grow in an area damaged by fire or natural disasters. Could be the PERFECT GIFT for a resilient friend or someone who is in recovery.

OIL PAINTINGS:
All my oil paintings are left to dry for a minimum of six months and finished with Winsor & Newton satin varnish to lift the colours and protect the paintings.

All my artworks are easy to frame. They are sold WITHOUT a frame to keep costs down and allow you to decide on what frame will look best in your home. However, some listings have an ‘add on’ feature where you can select a frame that has been custom made for that painting.
